Galvanic after Juvederm Injections

Hey… I saw in my search engine terms that someone came to my blog looking for the answer to whether they can use Galvanic after injections of Juvederm, an injectable facial filler. Whether it is the home version made by Nu Skin or being done with professional equipment in spa, NO! It can move the filler and change the appearance of your facial contours. Not good. Wait 2 weeks after ANY injectable filler.

I thought that was a really good question and I hadn’t addressed that in any posts that I recall….

The Wrinkled Ladies….

Okay…. Yes, this is a blog about skin care and avoiding wrinkles as best we can. But this is just too funny to not post. The video is by Anita Reinfroe , and you can see more hilarity by the lady on YouTube. Laugh and enjoy!

A Skin Care Product Review…. Almost.

A few months ago I was contacted via email by a woman who had a product she wished me to try and review for her. And then, of course write a post about it.

The product was a microdermabrasion cream. The cream is a manual exfoliant, you apply the cream to wet skin and massage it over your face in a circular motion. The tiny aluminum oxide crystals in the cream remove the layer of dead skin cells and reveal a fresher brighter complexion (there are various things in these types of creams ranging from ground nut shells -BAD- to tiny plastic beads to aluminum oxide crystals). The action of the massage with crystals also helps to stimulate cellular renewal deep within the layers of the skin.

The woman who initiated the correspondence was very personable, she told me the story of how she came to have this product. Who created it for her and why. Now, I am not going to tell you what the product is, who the woman is or who created it. Why not? Read the rest of this entry »

Tanning Beds: Aging and Addictive

Tanning beds. If you read the previous post on Tanning Beds you already know how I feel about them. I don’t like them. I mean, I. REALLY. DON’T. LIKE. THEM. For me, or for you. They age your skin, rob you of your skin’s natural beauty. And more importantly, they put you at risk for serious health issues. Like, um, cancer.

Now I realize that I left some important information out of that last post. It is called ADDICTION.  Yeah, if you are using a tanning bed you may have a monkey on your back.

Heard of endorphins? Runners high? Endorphins are a naturally occurring chemical in the body. When endorphins are released into your system you feel good. Endorphins are a natural pain reliever, so if you are wondering why someone running for miles could possibly feel good, that’s why. Now how about tanning bed high? Read the rest of this entry »
