Skin Care, Anti-Aging and Chemicals
I hear a lot of people say that they don’t want chemicals in their skin care or anti-aging products. Which leads me to wonder what, exactly, they think a chemical is. Funny because most people seem to think that chemicals are only man made substances. Bad for you, your skin and body.
They aren’t. Water is a chemical, and very necessary to skin care and anti-aging. So if you don’t want a chemical in your skin care will you stop washing your face? Plus many skin care products contain water as the first ingredient, meaning that the product is mostly water. Some skin care does not contain water, but the reason for that is because certain other ingredients are not as stable in water and lose their efficacy quickly in a water base. But that is getting off subject here.
Everything on earth is a chemical. Chemicals are made up of molecules. Molecules are made up of atoms. So, a combination of atoms make up a molecule. And a combination of different molecules make up a chemical. Read the rest of this entry »
Skin Care – Organic vs. Natural – Do You Know The Difference?
Are you set on using only those skin care and anti-aging products that are labeled organic or natural? If you are, do you know what separates the two? Because they are very different.
A product that claims itself to be organic must have a symbol, stamp or badge on it’s label to prove it. If there is no such visual certification on the label, and organic is what you are looking for, avoid the product. Read the rest of this entry »
Anti-Aging – Dermajuv – Another Solution
If you have been reading any of the other posts here you know that my absolute favorite tool (and it is a tool, not a face cream) for Anti-Aging is the Galvanic Facial. With the facial gels containing specially formulated ingredients that stop the genetic aging marker in our DNA plus the negative and positive charged ions we can now reach deep into the skin and treat the signs of aging as well as prevent further signs of aging. And we can do this at home easily and for about $8 a treatment (that is for the treatment gels, you must purchase the Galvanic device initially, but only once. It has a great warranty and replacement heads for the device are very inexpensive).
What is really cool about the Galvanic is this: Any skin care system you
choose to use whether it is what is made by the same company as the Galvanic which is Nu Skin, or made by another company, the efficacy of that product will be greatly increased. The Galvanic creates an environment in the skin which more readily accepts the active ingredients in your product. Oh~ Did I ever mention that you can also use Galvanic Therapy to condition the hair and scalp as well as the skin of your body? And spot treat more stubborn wrinkles and lines?
I personally use mostly Nu Skin products but I also use some others and have mentioned them here and there within my posts.
A product line that has recently come to my attention is Dermajuv. When I keep seeing a particular product being mentioned on news programs, in popular women’s magazines ( Everyday, Allure, Woman’s Day, Vogue, Lucky) and then Oprah spotlights it in a segment on wrinkle treatments, well I just have to take a look! Does tend to pique one’s interest, does it not? Read the rest of this entry »
Alpha, Beta and Poly, Who Are They?
Certainly we have all heard about exfoliating, right? That process we should be incorporating into our skin care regime that keeps the skin on our faces, and our bodies, fresh and glowing.
In my experience as a facialist I found that most clients skipped this essential step. Sure, they got the exfoliation during a monthly or the occasional facial but this is a process that needs to be performed on a regular basis. Read the rest of this entry »
