Anti-Aging and the Reality (Inevitability) of Wrinkles
The reality and inevitability of aging and wrinkles. It cannot be avoided or evaded. In fact, we should all be considering ourselves lucky to be aging, means we are still alive.
Problems set in when we don’t want to look as if we are aging. I personally know this all too well. How about you? It isn’t the age that bothers me, the actual number. It’s that reflection in the mirror. The Battle of the Wrinkles. Luckily (and no, I am not bragging), between my experience as an Esthetician and just plain old good genes, I’ve been fighting back pretty well.
I’ve done my homework, researched product ingredients, figured out what will actually provide some results. And in case you haven’t, I have put much of it together here for you, on this blog (always more to come).
Results vary though. And we, you and I, vary. Some of us show the signs of aging earlier than others. Products vary. Effectiveness, stability, things like that.. All the hype around products is crazy. This one does it all! Eliminate wrinkles! Better than this, better than that! What a mess, right?
But you know what? You can’t eliminate a wrinkle. Only minimize it’s appearance. And you can improve the overall appearance of your skin with care and quality products but, there is no one product that does it all. And there is no way, no matter what, and I do mean no way, you can remove a wrinkle. With a product that is.
Yes, you can have a facelift, a resurfacing and injectable fillers. And you will look much younger. But you will need all 3 to get that truly younger fuller look. How fat is your wallet? Your initial “work” and then the upkeep is going to cost you, dearly. After the procedures those fillers need to be done repeatedly. $$$! Eventually you will need another facelift as well, they don’t last forever.
So back to products. No magic bullet. I know, disappointing. And you need a variety of products to address all the issues going on inside the layers of your skin, and out. You need antioxidants, skin identical ingredients, cell communicating ingredients, exfoliates and protection. And it won’t all come in one product.
If you want to fight back you need to commit to using all of these ingredients. Now. And the younger you are when you start the better your chances of slowing, yes slowing not stopping, the visible signs of aging. Think about your lifestyle, too. Do you smoke? Or how about tanning? Yes? Knock it off. You will age faster if you don’t.
The cruel fact is: You will age, and you will get some wrinkles. No matter what you do. It’s life. Deal with it, but don’t ignore it.
Or do ignore it. I am fully aware that some of you don’t care. Some of you feel that wrinkles are a map of your life. A sign of character. Where you have been and who you are. And that is absolutely fine. It’s about personal choice.
So, as sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, you will get wrinkles and other signs of skin aging. It is not 100% avoidable. Don’t buy into the media hype. Learn about your skin care, learn to make wise choices. Choices that will help you slow it all down and keep your skin healthy and glowing.
