Hi Kellie~ If all natural is your goal, and your skin is not overly dry, choose the BHA as salicylic acid is a natural ingredient. However if your skin is sensitive or overly dry the the best choice is PHA. PHA is all natural and very gentle, suitable for all skin types. Your results will be slower to come with the PHA as opposed to the BHA but it is better to go slow than to rush with an incorrect choice. There are also enzyme products with ingredients that are derived from fruit, pumpkin as well. These aren't even close to as effective and are not as stable an ingredient in skin care formulations, they break down in the product quite easily, making them quite useless quickly.

Nice info, Jeff! We all need to know the difference between the ingredients in our skin care.

What all-natural ingredients do you think are the most effective?

True, most people just grab an AHA and figure they are good to go. There is no "one size fits all skin care"! And~ I forgot to mention,if you use an AHA over most of your face but are oily in the T-zone use a BHA for that area to prevent breakouts.

Very informative and helpful article. Especially identifying which acids work best for different skin types. I have found that most people don't stop to consider matching a treatment to their skin type and can create more of a problem as a result. . .
