OK, I think we all get it now... You love your tanning in sunbeds and will argue the point to death. Fine, but we are done now. And we are still in disagreement. Talk to your dermatologist......

Hello! Sorry I do totally disagree with you. Sunbeds do not cause cancer. This is to simple and just a repeat of things you picked up. It is like saying driving a car kills etc. It is sunburn that is harmful not normal usage of sunbeds. 98 % of peole do not burn from sunbeds! I know what I am talking about - using sunbeds over 20 years now. Only had a problem when tanning outdoors but not from indoors.

I feel much safer on the sunbed than outdoors! The dose is exactly the right. I never burn.

So driving a car is the same. Drive it incorrect and you crash which can kill you. Normal proper use of a car does not kill you. I am living proof of that. As I always say everything in moderation is good for you. Excess is never good for you. I don/t know if you drink alkohol. I could say alcohol kills and it should be banned. I think this would be just to simple. A glass of wine now and then does not kill you either- it is actually good for you. But you probably disagree on that as well.

Hello Tanning Beds!

I agree that tanning beds should be cleaned frequently. This is for hygine reason and ensuring that the rays are not blocked and therefore you are not tanning as well.

However it is wrong that the hygiene of the bed has anything to do if the rays are harmful or not.

In theorie it could happen that the bed is so dusty/ dirty that the rays are not fully able to shine through the acrylics.

The effect would be the opposite of what you are saying - less exposure to UV light and therefore less " harm " if you consider UV rays harmful! But less tan for you.

Ummm... No, I only use the 50 spf when spending an entire day in summer sun, such as boating or beach activity.

As a Pilates Trainer I am aware of the issues of Osteoporosis. Much of it is caused by leading a sedentary life, not moving, not exercising.

Sun/tanning beds ARE terrible for you, I wholeheartedly disagree with your comments on that topic.

Yes, a certain amount of unprotected sun exposure for Vit. D is fine. But not whole long days of it.

Skin cancer has increased because of Tanning Bed use, not avoidance of the sun.

Our ancestors died from many things that in their time were yet un-named and thus, not treatable. Of course they could have died from Melanoma, but would they have know what that was or how they got it? They could have died from lung cancer, but would they have known that? Perhaps just called it "consumption"?

Sorry, but your argument, "DOCTOR!" or not, just doesn't add up.....

Hello Jeffrie -Ann! I was reading your comment and you are stating that you put on factor 50 and avoid the sun altoget, her. I must say what you are saying is so much yesterday. Have you not heard of the huge increase in brittle bones (Osteoroposes)? Do you know why? It is because people like you and our own children are totally denied any kind of sunshine which produces life important Vitamin D. It is not normal to be indoors all the times and avoid the sun. It is only now in more recent times that people are working indoors and do not get any sun. Our ancestors worked mostly outdoors, got their dose of sun and had a lesser chance of getting cancer, osteroroposes etc. Why would skin cancer increase as more people avoid the sun?: It just doesen t add up. The whole thing about knocking sunbeds is mostly promoted by the cosmetics industry. All surveys are heavily sponsored by the large cosmetic industry giants. It suits to scare people to sell more anti aging creams and suntan lotions. It is all about making huge profits! Check out Dr. Holick - one of very few Doctors that are not afraid to speak up loudly about sunbeds and their benefits! I state this is a DOCTOR!

Lack of sun = lack of vitamin D = increase in cancer!!!!

Hmmm, Kool..... Which tanning salon do you own? Tanning beds/bulbs cause cancer. Tanning beds/bulbs are addictive as they create cutaneous endorphins which keep you coming back for more. There is no research done by the medical community indicating that any tan is safe. Period. I am so disappointed to see this propaganda still exists. Sorry, Kool. I gotta call it as I know it.

Theirs nothing wrong with tanning as long as you don't go to much, just go enough to get a based tan. The sun is a lot worse than a tanning bed. They have anti burning tanning beds, technology is just way advanced now and skin cancer won't be much of a problem with tanning beds.

Absolutely correct! But why is it that fair skinned people think they need to tan to "look better"?
