Skin Care or Esthetics Career?

80__s_by_CalucaZombiHave you thought about a career in skin care? Becoming an Esthetician? It is a field that can be very rewarding. If you are the type of person who enjoys helping others to improve their physical appearance, encouraging them to take the best care of the skin they will wear for life, are a patient and nurturing type, then it may be for you.

If it is an Esthetician you want to be, be prepared to spend some long hours in school and pay high prices for that specialized education. Each state has different requirements regarding the education. You would need to check with your State Board of Cosmetology to get your state’s specific information.

And there are many schools to choose from in every state, all with varying levels of educational quality. So you really need to be savvy when it comes to finding just where you want to spend those education dollars! Myself, I went to a school of cosmetology where I lived at the time and then proceeded to continue my education at The Aveda Institute in Minneapolis, MN. Now that, is a really great school!

Click here to see a page I found that gives the low down on what Giving a facial, but! You can't keep nails like that if you do! Dangerous!you need to consider in becoming an Esthetician!

Or maybe you are interested in the products, all the new advancements, the new technologies now on the market and don’t really want to work in a spa giving facials.

If you just want to get involved in products, there are still choices to be made! You could get a job selling skin care and make up in a department store, if you can find one that is hiring! The pay isn’t great and the hours can be annoying. Actually though, that is where most start. Some then move on to work for the individual companies manufacturing skin care at the corporate level, as a sales representative or such. But those jobs these days are few and far between thanks to this economy we are stuck in!

Be in Business for YOURSELF!Whether you are looking for something to build to full time, want part time to supplement a job you already have or you are a work at home type (stay at home mom perhaps?) there are other options.

See, that is what I do now. Yes, I am still an Esthetician but in addition to that I teach Pilates, take care of a home, write this blog, have doggie kids and I sell amazing Skin Care! I do it on my own schedule, manage the business myself, use the products and am my own walking advertisement. You can keep doing whatever you are doing now, get into selling skin care and make yourself a nice income on the side. Lot’s of options here!

If you are curious about this type of opportunity I have some things for you to look at. Take a look here for an introduction.

Now, if that intrigued you, check out this fun site!
