Anti-Aging and New Uses For Botox

If you’re into anti-aging you have most certainly heard of Botox. And even if you aren’t you’d have to be living under a rock not to have heard at least something about it.

Botox use, as we know it so far in the cosmetic and anti-aging world, is used to eliminate those furrows between your eyebrows.

But, hold onto your hat. There are new and interesting uses being employed. Whether you are brave enough to actually try any of them may be another story, but they are interesting!

How about lifting your breasts? And the result being close to an actual surgical lift? Don’t like the shape of your nose? Well, guess what. Now you can change it with a Botox loaded pin prick of a tiny needle.

How about your smile? Seeing too much of the upper teeth and gums? Fix that, too. And what about the shape of your eyes? Just can’t achieve that wide set, doe-eyed look you’re after with liner and shadow? Another little stick of the Botox needle can produce that as well.

Any of this interest you? Are you brave enough? All of these treatments are fairly new. So finding a doctor who has the experience to do the best job may not be an easy task. And having that experience is key.

Then, come on back and tell me what you think. I know what I think, and I am chicken, LOL! Uhuh, you do it first…..

Cosmetic Procedures for Wrinkles Performed by Non-Specialists

Have you been to have your yearly exams, you know, the ones we all dread and yet are so necessary? I hope you do have those yearly exams, your life could very well depend on it.

But while you were there, did you see something new that you had not seen before? Such as an advertisement for cosmetic procedures that you would not normally find in this particular setting? I did. Made me wonder.

Did my Doc go back to school, get licensed in another specialty? Cosmetic Dermatology or Plastic Surgery perhaps? Why would he/she do that? Is Women’s Health no longer lucrative? Read the rest of this entry »

Wrinkles and Argireline – “Better than Botox”?

SmoothIf you are looking around at products that are meant to replace those expensive Botox injections, you have more than likely run across ads claiming this: “Better than Botox”. Right? I know I’ve seen plenty of them.

The ingredient that they are claiming is better than Botox is Argireline, or Acetyl Hexapeptide-3. This ingredient is a synthetically derived protein. Companies using this ingredient are claiming that it has muscle relaxing abilities. This ingredient is being put into products that are meant to be applied to the entire face. Now maybe I haven’t heard right, but isn’t Botox meant only for the brow and forehead area? And isn’t Botox a muscle movement minimizer, in other words muscle paralyzing?

Let me ask you this: Supposing that this ingredient works as well as the manufacturer claims and does relax the muscles of your face, is relaxing every muscle in your face something you really want? Doesn’t it make sense that if you were applying this on the entire surface of your face that the muscles of the face would all relax and you’d end up with sagging skin? Of course you would notice that, wouldn’t you? Are you using it? On your entire face? Is your face sagging? No? Then maybe it isn’t really doing anything at all. Read the rest of this entry »
