Facials with Gold, Bird Poo, Noodles and Snakes?

I don’t get it. Really, I don’t. I am totally into skin care, but puuuhleez, what is going on here? As an Esthetician I have performed a variety of different types of facials. And I’ve always believed and still do believe in science based anti-aging skin care.
I began today thinking I would take a look at a new trend in facials that I personally find rather questionable. Gold Facials. This is a facial I have never performed. It is something that has become popular recently, claiming to assist in lymphatic drainage, removal of toxins, the regeneration of cells and improvement of elasticity and smoothness in the skin. Facials – Some Really Good Advice
Ever go to a spa for a facial and end up confused as to what may or may not be best for your skin? Many spas are offering long menus these days full of exotic treatments. What’s a gimmick and what isn’t may be very difficult for the average gal to figure out!
I found this great little article on WebMD. This should help you a bit when navigating that spa menu. And guess what? They do mention my personal favorite. Galvanic!
I will have a post up shortly going into more detail on that. It happens to be one of the best ways to get those cell communicating ingredients deep into the skin while stimulating collagen production and smoothing wrinkles, sags and bags!
