Facial Wrinkles Telling Your Life Story?

Mirror MirrorWhen you look in the mirror, what do you see? Is there stress? Are all of your life issues displayed for all to see? Or are you looking at a face that is stress free? A face that is smooth and relaxed, minimally lined or wrinkled.

I’ve heard women say they feel that every wrinkle, line, sag, bag and imperfection tells the story of who they are. And they claim that this is something they are proud of. It shows where they have been, the struggles they have survived. And the fact they have indeed, survived. How about this one, I’ve earned every wrinkle and gray hair. Wow.

On one level I have to agree. We do earn some of them. All of us have struggles, traumas and issues that come in and out of our lives. We deal with it and if we are healthy of mind, we move on. But the wrinkles and lines, sags and bags, they stay. Then there are those pesky genetics. Yes, we all have a pre-destined path of family genetics that determines how we age.

For me, that is not the face I want to show the world. Yes, I’ve struggled with things. I’ve had issues, trauma and sadness. I just don’t want to share it as a piece of living art on my face. You know how it is when a woman wears too much really strong perfume? Before you even see her you know she is coming, she is announced by the scent that is wearing her, not the other way around..

Well, I feel the same way about wrinkles, on my face. I don’t care to have my wrinkles, lines or stress tell a story about me that I’m not ready to share. It’s not an announcement I care to make to the whole world. I want to present the best face or image I can, not the harder side of my life, the part I’ve moved forward from.

Those who I do become close to will eventually know these things about me. And they will discover why I don’t wear them as advertising. I choose to wear the face that says I’ve handled these things with grace. I want to present myself as a woman who has retained a fresh and positive outlook. And how easy is that if your face is showing stress or premature signs of aging?

So yes, I am a very strong advocate of anti-aging skin care. Since I am an Esthetician I know what works. And what doesn’t. Yes, I have wasted money on the empty promises, too. Only to go back to review what I should have remembered from my days in the facial room and the great education I received at the schools and seminars I attended.

In truth, I have found no cream or serum out there that can actually eliminate  a wrinkle. You can reduce a wrinkle, there are products that work to reduce. You can lift sagging skin and restore youthful elasticity with some products, and results will vary depending on the current condition of your skin and your consistency of use with the product.

If you really want to get the scoop on anti-aging and wrinkle reducing skin care, what facials provide lasting results, anti-aging ingredients and what they can do,  I can help. I can tell you what is hype and lies.  How not to get tricked. Marketing strategies promising you complete reversal of aging by just applying a layer of this cream or that cream really get me going.

And then there are those products that plump you up for the day. Those are not favorites of mine. Why use something that lasts 12 hours and then redo it for evening if you are going out?  Start thinking in terms of products that change your skin at a cellular level, that’s where the results begin. Repair the deep layers and the top layers will begin to change. And they will remain changed 24 hours a day with consistent  use.

I could rant on. But I won’t. We do not want to get started on that just now! What I have seen on the internet in the way of false promises makes me cringe. But I do have one rant coming up…..

Anyway, I love meeting new people and I love skin care. The right skin care! So don’t be shy! Comment, suggest, email, whatever your heart desires!
